About Me
Developer · Creator · Problem Solver
Hey, I’m Nergal — a software engineer and multimedia creator passionate about bridging logic and creativity. My main programming language is C#, which was the first language I learned, and I’ve since become skilled with SQL, VB.NET, and core Object-Oriented Programming principles like encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism.
Professionally, I’ve worked as a Software Engineer at Vertafore and completed internships at MGA Systems and Vertafore as a Junior Developer. During these roles, I maintained production codebases, built internal tools, debugged complex issues, and even contributed to developing a 2D side-scroller game as part of my internship projects.
Beyond engineering, I designed and coded this site from scratch to showcase my work. I’m fluent with tools like Visual Studio, VS Code, and Adobe Creative Suite — Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. My creative process is influenced by surrealist art, especially René Magritte — his painting The Lovers is one of my all-time favorites and inspires me to create work that feels mysterious and open to interpretation.
I also have a strong passion for web development and multimedia projects. I’m skilled in C#, Python, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, giving me the ability to build both functional and visually appealing applications. This blend of technical knowledge and creative vision allows me to craft interactive experiences, from polished websites to innovative multimedia pieces that merge code and art.
Outside of code and design, I love building things in the real world. I’ve created a robotic arm powered by Arduino and servos, wired and assembled myself, and I’m currently developing a Raspberry Pi AI assistant that blends voice interaction with smart automation. I also enjoy playing chess, learning new tech stacks, and exploring ways to connect software and hardware in unique projects.
At my core, I’m someone who experiments, learns, and pushes myself to improve — whether I’m solving a hard bug, printing a new design on my 3D printer, or turning a dream-inspired concept into digital art. I’m always open to trying new things and seeing how far my ideas can go.
